Update your resume with awards, honors, paid or volunteer work, and extracurricular activities -- emphasize leadership roles
Schedule a meeting with your guidance counselor to discuss the upcoming year
Ask trusted teachers, supervisors, etc for Letters of Recommendation
These should be followed up with thank you notes. Make sure to express gratitude to these individuals for taking time out of their schedule to write you a letter.
Begin completing college admissions applications by the priority deadlines
Many Florida schools have a deadline of November 1st
Search partnership schools for their priority deadlines (Contact Sheila if you are unsure)
Your list of schools should be narrowed down to 8
FSA ID should be created before October 1st to prepare for the FAFSA application
Complete College Comparison Worksheet and list of colleges
Finalize your list of colleges and applications
Make sure you have at least begun all applications
Many Florida schools have a deadline of November 1st
Begin researching scholarships and submitting applications
Complete FAFSA application as soon as possible
FAFSA opens on October 1st

Continue strong in classes
Your grades may affect your admittance status to a college
Acceptance Letters and Financial Aid offers will begin to arrive. Gather all of your materials for your discussion with your coordinators.

Continue applying for scholarships
Continue the thought process from Junior year about deciding a major and career choice for post high school

Will I need additional schooling past undergraduate?
Complete a Career Readiness program to make sure your interests follow the major you have decided on
Does this major/career match my interests?
If you have not done so already, make your final college decision and notify your college
Many colleges ask for confirmation deposits by May 1st. You are able to use your Guadalupe Scholarship for these deposits
Accept financial aid awards from schools and review loans, if necessary
Send all final transcripts.
Transcripts from IHS and FGCU/FSW (if attended)
Attend Freshman Orientation
Finalize your financial aid package
Find your required textbooks in your syllabi and search for the best place to purchase
Amazon, Chegg, college bookstore, eBay, Google Play Books, etc.
