Every Tutor Corps student is matched with an adult mentor to provide him or her with guidance and support throughout high school. Mentors are expected to help their mentee stay on top of all their college prep requirements including writing a resume and personal essay, signing up for the SAT/ACT, filling out scholarship forms, evaluating colleges and career options, and more. Mentors also help their mentees develop professional communication skills through frequent phone calls, emails and texts.
